Sri Lanka’s leading producer of high quality circular knitted fabrics, Textured Jersey Lanka Plc (TJL) reported last week that it intends to use part of the proceeds raised through its Initial Public Offering (IPO) last year on the purchase of an operating fabric mill. According to a report in The Nation, negotiations are already underway with a fabric mill in South Asia.

The company’s redesigned MJMBF2, a single jersey striper with electronic individual needle selection with 3 way technique, is said to have been well received at the Texpo Eurasia 2012, which was held from 21 to 24 April in Istanbul.

Gildan Activewear announced today that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire 100% of the common shares of Anvil Holdings, Inc. (Anvil) for a total purchase price of approximately U.S. $88 million. The acquisition will be financed through Gildan’s bank credit facility and the company will not assume any of Anvil’s outstanding debts.

According to a report in the Manchester Evening News (MEN) last night, UK headquartered Rowlinson Knitwear has secured £5 million refinancing package. The Stockport based company has obtained the facility from HSBC Commercial Banking to support its day-to-day operations and its growth aspirations.
